Position: Scientific Recruiter

The Long Island and New York bioscience industry is growing! Our region’s biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device industries are in need of qualified scientific and laboratory talent. Opus Scientific is seeking a scientific recruiter to join our dynamic team in Melville, New York and to help develop our region into a leading scientific marketplace.

Job Description:

Your primary responsibilities will consist of identifying and recruiting scientific and laboratory talent through a variety of sources including our existing candidate database, candidate referrals, internet resources, colleges, career fairs, networking events and industry associations. You will become an important member of our team by identifying new prospective clients, researching industry trends, developing recruitment strategies and building long term relationships with the region’s scientific talent. Your industry expertise will become a vital resource for our candidates as they advance throughout their professional career.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have a scientific background, an outgoing personality and the entrepreneurial drive to contribute to our growing organization.
• BS or MS degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Knowledge of the bioscience business environment including product life cycles from research to commercialization.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and internet research techniques.
• Excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
